New course proposals and proposals for changes to existing courses are submitted and reviewed through the IU Course Approval, Remonstrance, Maintenance, and Integration (CARMIn).
Follow the instructions here for submitting new course and course change proposals and for reviewing and approving course proposals at your review level.
Submitted proposals route for review through the initiating department, school, University Enrollment Services, and Graduate School before being placed on the CARMIn remonstrance list for 30 days.
Faculty members may ask questions and raise objections to any proposals on the remonstrance list. After 30 days, if no objections have been raised, the course proposal is finalized. To file a remonstrance to a proposal on the list, please review the course remonstrance instructions.
