Where did you complete your Undergraduate Studies?

Bennett College

What degree are you working toward?

I am working towards both a MSED in Qualitative Inquiry Methodology and PhD in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education.

Why did you choose graduate school at IU Bloomington?

I chose IU Bloomington because it allows me to research my passion and it supports my interests. The campus has an abundance of resources, opportunities to build community, great support, and professional growth.

What's been your favorite academic accomplishment since you've been here?

My greatest accomplishment has been using resources available to me to grow intellectually and emotionally in my field. This has allowed me to be a part of American Education Research Association (AERA) Graduate Board among other things. This is my favorite accomplishment because I interact with colleagues from a variety of institutions and network with powerhouses in Critical Literacy Education.

What do you enjoy most about life in Bloomington?

It is a great place to focus.
