Where did you complete your Undergraduate Studies?Auburn University Montgomery
What degree are you working toward?I am working towards my PhD in African American African Diaspora Studies with a minor in Gender Studies.
Why did you choose graduate school at IU Bloomington?I chose IU Bloomington for its renowned faculty. I was excited to meet and work with some of the scholars whom I’ve admired. Being at such a large institution, unlike my previous schools, afforded me access to greater resources and networking that serves as an excellent source for my research and goals.
What's been your favorite academic accomplishment since you've been here?During my first year at IU, I was able to have one of my papers accepted into a conference. Although I have attended several conferences in the past, IU helped me to prepare to present for the first time.
What do you enjoy most about life in Bloomington?Life in Bloomington helps me to focus on my academic and life goals. Although the town is smaller, it provides plenty of opportunities for personal growth and wellness. It is a charming place to connect with people from around the globe without being too overwhelmed.
