NISS Dissertation Grant

The National Institute of Social Sciences (NISS) invites nominations for its Dissertation Grants Program. NISS Dissertation Grants are designed to support outstanding Ph.D. students who need resources to complete doctoral work that promises to significantly advance their fields of study. 

Eligibility

Projects in the fields of Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology are eligible. Interdisciplinary projects that include one or more of these fields as a major component may also be considered.

Indiana University will select 2 nominees for this award.

Grant Benefit

NISS anticipates awarding several grants of $5,000 each. These grants may be used to cover any necessary expenses related to completing a dissertation.

• Students who wish to be considered for nomination must complete and submit the online application by the published deadline. A departmental nomination is not required.
• UGS will accept multiple applications per department.
