What degree are you working toward?
I am working toward a PhD in Learning Sciences.
Why did you choose graduate school at IU Bloomington?
I chose IU because of the Learning Sciences program and faculty in the School of Education. I was looking for faculty that had really innovative and new ideas about education, and I found opportunities to do exciting research around those ideas here.
What's been your favorite academic accomplishment since you've been here?
I've been grateful for the opportunity to work on multiple NSF research projects, which has allowed me to see research across multiple stages from ideation to publication. This is extremely helpful as I think about my own research and helps me feel prepared about pursuing my own grants in the future. I have also had the opportunity to present on this work in London and Lyon, which has been incredibly exciting.
What do you enjoy most about life in Bloomington?
Bloomington is such a pretty place! I love the fall leaves and the spring flowers. The Farmer's Market in in spring and summer is a great place to enjoy local food and meet new people!
