  • Your summer research program (and your mentor's name if possible)
  • Which events you'll be attending

Please note that some events have registration deadlines!

For all other events, as a courtesy, please let us know if you plan on attending in order for us to prepare food and tickets for everyone.


  1. Cookout with McNair, Monday, June 2, 4:30 p.m. (map)

  2. Ice Cream and Movie Night, Saturday, June 7, 7 - 10 p.m.
    IMU GradPad (mezzanine level, down the hallway next to IU Outdoor Adventures)

  3. Wonderlab Science Museum Visit, Sunday, June 8, 1 - 3 p.m. (map)
    Registration is required by Thursday, June 5 at 5 p.m. Hands-on science museum. Directions: http://www.wonderlab.org/visit/visit.html

  4. Outdoor adventures with IUPUI, Saturday, June 21, all day event Event TBA. Registration is required by Wednesday, June 18 at 5 p.m.

  5. Faculty / Mentor Reception, Saturday, June 28, Bryan Park, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. (map)
    * STRONGLY ENCOURAGED * Tickets (free for you) are available through your department for this event.
    Mingle with faculty and other summer students. Good food, outdoor games, and a chance to relax.

  6. Preparing for the Oral Presentation, Wednesday, June 25, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., IMU Sassafras (Tree Suite)
    Learn how to prepare for an oral presentation from expert Dr. Carolyn Calloway-Thomas, IU Communication and Culture Department.

  7. Dept. of Astronomy Observatory Night, Saturday July 12, 10 - 11:30 p.m. (directions and history)
    Take a closer look at the starts with the help of Astronomy faculty and graduate students.

  8. UniverSoul Circus at the Indiana Black Expo in Indy, Sat. July 19, all day
    RSVP is required by Tuesday, July 1.

  9. CIC SROP (Summer Research) Conference
    Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI
    Friday, July 25 - Sunday, July 27, 2008

    African American, Latino/a American or Native American students (U.S. citizens) only. Registration is required with AGEP and with the CIC by June 13, 2008. Contact your Program Director/Coordinator for more information on this conference.

  10. GRE Prep Course, June 9 – July 24 – encouraged for juniors and seniors
    This 8-week course meets twice a week (T/TH 5:30-7pm, Ballantine Hall 214) and costs $40 to offset the cost of books. Email agep@indiana.edu to sign up ASAP. If you fully participate in this class and register for the GRE test, we’ll offset the cost for you to take the real GRE exam ($140)!
