Stellar Astrophysics and Beyond

Feb. 1 Flexible, starting in mid-May
Students work with faculty to carry out projects in observational stellar astronomy and other fields. Program includes a trip to Kitt Peak National Observatory and use of WIYN telescopes.

Animal Behavior

Feb. 14 May 27 – August 2, 2008
Students are paired with mentors in biology, psychology, neuroscience or anthropology to develop and conduct independent research projects in animal behavior.

HBCU-STEM

Students from participating HBCUs are paired with mentors in science, technology and mathematics programs at IU Bloomington or IUPUI. The research conducted throughout the summer may be carried on at a student's home institution throughout the academic year as well.

This program provides research experience in a wide range of experimental and theoretical subfields, including: biophysics, condensed matter physics, high energy physics, nuclear physics, accelerator physics, medical physics, and nuclear chemistry. Undergraduate physics majors from colleges across the US participate in our 10-week summer program.
