I chose IUB because I wanted to experience the best of the best in regard to my program. The HESA program is highly ranked nationally, and the faculty are some of the most influential in the field. My research interests aligned with some of the faculty, and I thought IUB was a great fit for me.

What's been your favorite academic accomplishment since you've been here?

I've learned to celebrate every milestone as a doctoral student, even the smallest of victories! My favorite thus far is being recognized as Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year for the Multicultural Affairs division of the Association for College Personnel Administrators (ACPA).

What do you enjoy most about life in Bloomington?

What I enjoy most about Bloomington is the community/support system that I have built as a student here. Because of the academic prestige associated with the institution, people from all walks of life come to Bloomington to further their education. I love the fact that we can easily connect. I also appreciate the great restaurants the town has to offer. There are a lot of international food spots that allow you to experience diverse cultures. Note: My Thai is the absolute best!
